What NeuroSquad knows about you

NeuroSquad is a desktop app. The agents it runs, their terminals and your project folders are on your computer, and so is everything the app stores about them: workspaces, cards, arrows, notes, to-do lists, prompt queues, dictation history and settings (in %APPDATA%\NeuroSquad on Windows). Passwords, tokens and API keys you give to cards are encrypted by your operating system and are never sent to us.

The agents talk to their own AI services — Anthropic, OpenAI, Google and the rest — with the logins and keys you set up in them, under those services’ terms. That traffic goes from your computer to them directly and does not pass through NeuroSquad Cloud.

Dictation is recognised on your computer. Your voice is not sent anywhere.

The app asks you to sign in to NeuroSquad Cloud (app.neurosquad.ai). For your account we keep:

• your email address — signing up and signing in are the same step: a 6-digit code sent to it, Google or GitHub;
• a display name and a profile picture, only if you add them — the picture is re-encoded to 256×256 pixels and its metadata (such as location) is removed;
• the computers you signed in on: the device name, the operating system, the app version and when it was last seen. You can see them on your account page and sign any of them out;
• your plan. Today every account is on the free plan, with no limits;
• your country, and the countries you have signed in or used the app from (see below).

While you are signed in, the app sends usage statistics to NeuroSquad Cloud. They are counts, versions and on/off switches. They are sent under your account and stored linked to it, and the NeuroSquad team can look at them account by account — for example, how often someone uses dictation or which agent CLIs they start. Each computer is identified by a random install ID, and each workspace by a random ID made for it — not by its folder or its name.

Your country. When you sign in and while the app sends statistics, the server works out your country from your IP address with an offline database (DB-IP). Only the country is kept, never the IP address itself.

• Every minute while the app runs: the app version, the operating system, whether the window is in focus, how many workspaces are open and how many agents are running for each agent CLI.
• When the app starts: the app version, the operating system and its version, and the app’s language. The first start of a new install is marked as such.
• When a workspace is opened, and every 30 minutes while it stays open: how many cards of each type it has, how many agents of each agent CLI, and how many arrows and groups.
• When an agent starts: which agent CLI, whether it runs on its own login or on OpenRouter, and whether dangerous mode and canvas mode are on.
• When you use certain features: the feature’s name, from a fixed list built into the app.
• Each time you dictate: how long the recording was, which speech model and engine recognised it (and whether on the CPU or the GPU), and whether any text came out. Never the recording or the text.

On the web panel you can post ideas and problem reports, comment on them and vote. What you post there — the text, the tags, screenshots you attach and, for a problem, the app version and operating system you enter — is stored with your account and shown to everyone signed in to NeuroSquad, with your name and picture. Your email is never shown to other users; the NeuroSquad team can see it. Screenshots are re-encoded on our server, which removes their metadata such as location. The app’s “Report a problem” only fills in its version and your operating system; you can change or remove them before sending.

The app sends your sign-in and the usage statistics only to api.neurosquad.ai, the NeuroSquad Cloud server, which stores your account and the statistics. app.neurosquad.ai is the web panel where you sign in and manage your account; signing in there sets a cookie that only keeps you signed in.

• To run your account: sign-in, your devices and your plan.
• To know how many people use NeuroSquad, on which systems and versions — so we know what to support, and notice when an update went wrong.
• To learn which agent CLIs, cards and features are actually used, and how much, so we know what to improve next.
• To know which countries our users come from, so we know which languages and regions to support and where to tell people about NeuroSquad.

• Individual usage events: 90 days.
• Daily totals made from them — for example, how many people were active on a day, by operating system and app version: kept without a time limit.
• Your account, profile, devices and countries: until you delete the account.
• Ideas, problem reports and comments: until they are removed — you can delete your own comments, and the NeuroSquad team removes a post on request.

Signing out in the app ends that computer’s session; the data on the computer stays as it is. On your account page you can sign out any device, and delete the account: you confirm it with a code sent to your email, and the account is deleted together with its usage statistics.

Your ideas, problem reports and comments stay on the board after you delete your account, shown as by a “Deleted user”; your votes and the screenshots you attached are deleted. To have a post itself removed, ask us (see the last section).

Deleting the account does not touch anything on your computer. To remove the app’s own data, uninstall NeuroSquad with Also delete my NeuroSquad data turned on. Your project folders are never touched.

neurosquad.ai and docs.neurosquad.ai count visits with Yandex Metrica. Its session replay and click map are on: it records how pages are scrolled and where they are clicked. It runs only on these two websites, not in the app.
