In short
- Strictly necessary cookies keep you signed in, protect your account’s forms and remember your language and your cookie choice. They are always on.
- Analytics (Yandex Metrica, which counts visits) and session replay (Metrica’s Webvisor and click map) run only if you allow them. Until you choose, nothing optional is loaded: no Metrica script, no requests to Yandex, no analytics cookies.
- We use no advertising cookies, we do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for targeted advertising.
- One choice covers all three sites. Change or withdraw it at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page — as easily as you gave it.
- If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, we treat it as “Reject all”.
Strictly necessary
These need no consent: without them signing in, and the sites themselves, would not work. They are never used for analytics or advertising.
| Name | What it is for | Site | Set by | Kept for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ns_consent | Your cookie choice: the version of this policy, the date and time, which categories you allowed and where you chose. | Site: neurosquad.ai, docs.neurosquad.ai, app.neurosquad.ai | Set by: NeuroSquad | Kept for: 12 months; a refusal 6 months |
| nb_lang, nb-lang (local storage) | The language you picked, so the site opens in it. | Site: neurosquad.ai, app.neurosquad.ai | Set by: NeuroSquad | Kept for: 12 months; local storage until you clear it |
| NEXT_LOCALE | The language of the documentation you were sent to. | Site: docs.neurosquad.ai | Set by: NeuroSquad | Kept for: Until the browser closes |
| __Secure-ns_session | Keeps you signed in to your NeuroSquad account; also lets neurosquad.ai show your name in its header. Set only when you sign in. | Site: neurosquad.ai, docs.neurosquad.ai, app.neurosquad.ai | Set by: NeuroSquad (api.neurosquad.ai) | Kept for: 30 days |
| __Secure-ns_csrf | Protects your account’s forms against cross-site request forgery. | Site: neurosquad.ai, docs.neurosquad.ai, app.neurosquad.ai | Set by: NeuroSquad (api.neurosquad.ai) | Kept for: 30 days |
| __Secure-ns_oauth | Holds the state of a Google or GitHub sign-in while it is in progress. | Site: api.neurosquad.ai | Set by: NeuroSquad | Kept for: 10 minutes |
| ns_account_chip (session storage) | Remembers for a few minutes whether you are signed in, and the name and initials the header shows, so the site does not ask on every page. | Site: neurosquad.ai | Set by: NeuroSquad | Kept for: Until the tab is closed |
Analytics — only with your consent
Yandex Metrica counts visits on neurosquad.ai and docs.neurosquad.ai: which pages are opened, where visitors come from, which links they follow, the browser, the type of device, the screen size and an approximate location worked out from the IP address. We look at reports, not at who you are. app.neurosquad.ai has no analytics.
| Name | What it is for | Site | Set by | Kept for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| _ym_uid | A random visitor ID, to tell first and returning visits apart. | Site: neurosquad.ai, docs.neurosquad.ai | Set by: Yandex Metrica | Kept for: 1 year |
| _ym_d | The date of the first visit. | Site: neurosquad.ai, docs.neurosquad.ai | Set by: Yandex Metrica | Kept for: 1 year |
| _ym_isad | Whether the browser blocks ads, so that visits are counted correctly. | Site: neurosquad.ai, docs.neurosquad.ai | Set by: Yandex Metrica | Kept for: Up to 2 days |
| mdd | A technical cookie of Metrica’s script; Yandex does not describe it. | Site: neurosquad.ai, docs.neurosquad.ai | Set by: Yandex Metrica | Kept for: 1 day |
| _ym_* (local storage), __ym_tab_guid (session storage) | The same visitor ID, and Metrica’s counters of requests and retries. | Site: neurosquad.ai, docs.neurosquad.ai | Set by: Yandex Metrica | Kept for: Until cleared; session storage until the tab is closed |
Session replay and click map — only with your consent
Metrica’s Webvisor records how a page is scrolled, how the pointer moves and what is clicked, together with the page’s text, so we can watch how a page is read and fix what is confusing. The click map shows where clicks land. It is a separate switch: you can allow analytics without it.
| Name | What it is for | Site | Set by | Kept for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| _ym_visorc | Whether Webvisor records this visit. | Site: neurosquad.ai, docs.neurosquad.ai | Set by: Yandex Metrica | Kept for: 30 minutes |
| _ym_wv2rf:* (local storage) | The state of Webvisor’s recording. | Site: neurosquad.ai, docs.neurosquad.ai | Set by: Yandex Metrica | Kept for: Until cleared |
Cookies Yandex and Google set on their own domains
When Metrica runs — only after your consent — Yandex’s servers also set cookies on Yandex’s own domains, and Metrica’s script asks Google’s ad network (cm.g.doubleclick.net) to match identifiers, which sets a short-lived cookie there. We cannot read or delete these cookies; Yandex’s and Google’s own policies apply to them. You can block or delete them in your browser.
- On yandex.ru and mc.yandex.ru:
yandexuid,yuidss,ymex,i,bh,pi,yashr,_yasc,yabs-sid— Yandex’s identifiers, kept up to about 13 months. Yandex privacy policy - On doubleclick.net:
test_cookie— Google checks whether the browser accepts cookies; 15 minutes. How Google uses cookies
Your choices
- Cookie settings at the bottom of every page (or the button on this page): accept all, reject all, or one category at a time. Withdrawing is as easy as giving: switch it off and save.
- When you withdraw, Metrica stops on the page at once, and its cookies and storage keys on our sites are deleted. What it had already sent stays in Metrica for the time described below.
- Global Privacy Control: if your browser sends it, analytics stay off and no banner is shown. You can still turn analytics on yourself in the settings.
- Your browser: you can block or delete cookies in its settings. Without the strictly necessary ones you cannot sign in.
- Without JavaScript nothing optional runs at all.
How we keep your choice
Your choice is a record in the ns_consent cookie on your device: the version of this policy, the date and time, the categories you allowed and whether you chose in the banner or in the settings. It covers neurosquad.ai, docs.neurosquad.ai and app.neurosquad.ai. A consent lasts 12 months and a refusal 6; after that, or when this policy changes in a way that matters for your choice, we ask again — and until you answer, analytics stay off.
Your rights where you live
- EU, EEA and UK (GDPR, ePrivacy Directive, PECR): optional cookies only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. You can ask for access to your data, its correction or erasure, restrict or object to processing, and complain to your data protection authority.
- United States (CCPA/CPRA and other state privacy laws): we do not sell your personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. Global Privacy Control is honoured as an opt-out, and since analytics start only after you opt in, Cookie settings is also your opt-out link.
- Russia (Federal Law No. 152-FZ): Metrica processes personal data — cookie identifiers, the IP address, device data — so it runs only with your consent, given in a separate document: the consent text. You can withdraw it at any time in Cookie settings.
- China (PIPL): analytics data goes to Yandex in Russia only after your separate consent, which names the recipient, the purpose and the data.
- Japan (APPI, Telecommunications Business Act): the tables on this page are our notice of what your browser sends to Yandex and Google, to whom and why.
- South Korea, India, Singapore, Brazil and everywhere else: the same rule applies everywhere — nothing optional runs without your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time.
Where analytics data goes and for how long
Metrica data is processed by Yandex (ООО «ЯНДЕКС», Moscow, Russia) on its servers, under Yandex’s terms for Metrica. For visitors outside Russia this is a transfer abroad — another reason it waits for your consent. Webvisor recordings are kept for 15 days; visit reports are kept in Metrica in aggregated form.
Changes and questions
When we add or change a cookie, this page and its date change, and if it matters for your choice, the banner asks again. Questions: Discord or X. The app and your account are described in the privacy notice.
